Instrumental students entering grades 8–12 are invited to audition for a unique opportunity to perform side-by-side with members of the Pittsburgh Philharmonic throughout the entire summer season. Participants will rehearse and perform in a supportive, mentorship-focused environment, collaborating closely with experienced adult musicians.

PERFORMANCE DATES:

There are no application or audition fees
Upon acceptance, the fee for the summer program is $50
Need-based scholarships are available
Audition Requirements
Violin, viola & cello:
Major Scales: 3 sharps and 3 flats memorized
Solo: PMEA Grade level selection or Suzuki book 4 and higher
Bass:
Major Scales: 3 sharps and 3 flats memorized
Solo: PMEA Grade level selection
Woodwinds & brass:
Major Scales: 3 sharps and 3 flats memorized
Solo: PMEA Grade level selection
Percussion:
Solo: PMEA Grade level selection
