Since 1975, the Pittsburgh Philharmonic has been bringing quality classical music performances to the greater Pittsburgh area and giving local amateur musicians a place to share their passion of playing music to our community. Consisting of over 70 volunteer members, the Pittsburgh Philharmonic offers 4 concert programs during our regular season – typically held in October, December, March, and May. Our repertoire contains many classical favorites and modern contemporary works. In addition, we encourage the creation of new music through our sponsored Young Composer Contest. We also actively engage with young musicians by providing opportunities for talented high school students to play alongside the Philharmonic during our annual Summer Side-by-Side program, and for solo performances with the orchestra through the Young Artist Concerto Competition.
To support our mission, the Philharmonic offers advertisement space for local individuals and businesses in our printed concert programs. Your advertisement will be viewed by hundreds of music lovers from the local area who attend our concerts at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center in Ross Township. Placing an ad in our concert program provides recognition of your business, reaches a market of local residents and arts supporters, and helps sustain the Pittsburgh Philharmonic as a valuable community resource.
